What is this?

An electric car is a motor vehicle that is powered only by an electric motor and its associated battery system. It consists of a drivetrain powered by a direct-current (DC) motor, AC or DC batteries, a power control unit to regulate the motor’s output, and a transmission. Electric cars provide excellent acceleration and torque with zero emissions, offer much greater efficiency than combustion engine vehicles, and have the potential to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and reduce air pollution when compared to gasoline-powered vehicles. Electric cars are an attractive and effective solution for sustainable transportation and are becoming increasingly commonplace in many cities.
